Final Fantasy 15 Release Date Will Be After Lightning Returns, Dragon Quest X, X/X-2 HD Remake: English Dubbing Already Begun?

Fans of Square Enix may be exciting for its many upcoming releases, but for those waiting for the release of Final Fantasy 15, they may have to wait for several more months.

Originally named Final Fantasy Versus 13, Final Fantasy 15 is a long-awaited title from Square Enix.

According to Gaming Bolt, a recent Square Enix financial results briefing session, Final Fantasy 15 is not expected to have a release date earlier than March of 2014.

This doesn't mean, however, that Square Enix don't have releases before that. Some titles that are expected to release before Final Fantasy 15 include Call of Duty: Ghosts, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Dragon Quest X, Drag-on Dragoon 2, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Dragon Quest Monsters 2, and Thief.

What we do know is that Final Fantasy 15 will be for the PS4 and Xbox One, and although a release date is nowhere in sight, the recent slew of news and details does seem to indicate that the game is on track to release after a long delay.

One such evidence comes from Nova Crystallis on a recent report that English voice actors have started providing translation dubbing for the title.

Generally, the North American release date for Japanese titles are months later than the Japanese release due to voice work and translations, so the fact that it has already begun is a positive sign.

And for those who are wondering how much Final Fantasy 13 and Final Fantasy 15 will have in common, it appears the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe is still very much in play.

"You must remember, it was a long time ago that we named those three games: XIII, as well as Versus and Agito which we now call Type-0. Obviously those three projects were going to be developed against the backdrop of this Crystal trilogy, or Fabula Nova Crystallis. But each project has a different set of characters and they're set in different universes and worlds," says Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama.

"When Etro is mentioned in the context of XIII and XV, we're referring to the same goddess of Death. It's the same goddess, but how she's featured, how she appears and how she's involved with the story is completely different. They're different stories and different projects. So while it's the same character, her involvement is very different."

Stay tuned for a release date for Final Fantasy 15.
