Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Update: Phablet’s U.S.-based Users Finally Gets Android 4.3 Update, All Major U.S. Carriers Have Begun Rolling Out Upgrade

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 update: Finally, the expected Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, which we first heard from the South Korean tech giant during the launch of the Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear has is now in U.S. shores.

The availability in the U.S. came right after the Android 4.3 update. It is expected that AT&T and Sprint will make the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean available for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 today, which will enable it to support Samsung Galaxy Gear and Samsung KNOX.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, a roll out schedule was leaked showing that the update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would be available in the U.S. around November 20. The schedule also also claimed that the AT&T Galaxy Note 2 and Sprint Galaxy Note 2 would receive the update on the said day. The mobile industry-focused site reported that as the schedule stated, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users begun.

Sprint announced the roll out on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 support page, which shows some of the new features phablet’s users can expect one they’ve installed the software on their devices. Amongst these new features are HD voice compatibility, Samsung Galaxy Gear support, and Samsung KNOX. Note 2 users can avail the update over-the-air.

Unlike iOS 7 updates, Android updates are usually done in batches and Gotta Be Mobile remarked that Sprint immediately informed users that the roll out could take some time. A customer representative claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update could take several weeks.

Today’s Android 4.3 rollout marks the beginning of the update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users all over the U.S. T-Mobile is expected to give users the update on December 2, while Verizon is expected to begin the roll out on Black Friday, November 29.
