According to People magazine, the former "Gossip Girl" actress, 27, and the former "The O.C." star, 33, are engaged. Sources confirmed Leighton Meester and Adam Brody were dating earlier this year, but the couple have been notoriously private and secretive about their relationship.

Leighton and Adam have been dating for less than a year - their relationship was confirmed in February, Us Weekly reports.

The famous CW actors (who both starred in cult TV shows created by Josh Schwartz) know each other from working together on the 2011 film "The Oranges," and began "hanging out" in early 2013, Us Weekly reports.

While it may seem like this couple hasn't been together long, they are both starring in the upcoming film "Life Partners," which is expected to release in 2014. According to Wikipedia, scenes were shot at Long Beach, California this summer, and wrapped up by June 2013.

Perhaps Leighton and Adam grew close on the set of "Life Partners," preparing them to take the next step in their relationship and looking forward to marriage.

"I love love. It's the most intriguing universally understood emotion, and it comes in so many forms: family love, love of friends," Meester told Lucky magazine in 2012, Us Weekly reports. "I fall in love with everybody all the time."

Meester previously dated actor Aaron Himelstein before calling things off during the 2012 holiday season, and before him famously dated her "Gossip Girl" co-star Sebastian Stan. Brody, meanwhile, dated director and screenwriter Lorene Scafaria back in 2010. Before her, Brody famously dated his own "O.C." co-star, Rachel Bilson in 2006.
