Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: T-Mobile Owners Of Former Flagship Gets Android 4.3 Update Amidst Earlier Issues When Installing New OS

Samsung Galaxy S3 update: Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S3 for T-Mobile owners of the device is here. The International Business Times described it as a “strange turn of events,” but the S3 on the network updated to Android 4.3.

The twist was the Samsung Galaxy S4 was supposed to receive the update, but it did not. The U.S. carrier announced the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update on its support forum Tuesday, reported the Business Times.

The Android 4.3 rollout for S3 on T-Mobile occurred despite earlier reports that it has caused multiple glitches and bugs on S3 phones in Europe who has received the update. It was even speculated at one point that carriers might delay the rollout of Android 4.3

The news came as yet another disappointment, as S3 owners could possibly face another delay on getting the official update for their devices. Android 4.3 update for the S3 has been much awaited, especially since many of them were expecting to get the Android 4.2.2 upgrade last summer.

One of the key new features that Samsung Galaxy S3 will get once its updated to the Android 4.3 is the ability to give support to Samsung Galaxy Gear, the flagship wearable gadget of the tech leader. Samsung KNOX will also be a new feature for the S3 post-update.

According to the Business Times, T-Mobile S3 owners must have at least 50 percent battery life on their handset and the latest version of Samsung KIES for PC or Mac or a very stable connection when doing the update over-the-air (OTA). Users can also check if the update is now available for their handset by going to Settings >> About phone >> Software update menu.

Like all Android updates, the roll out will be done in phases and batches and could take weeks to complete.
