Sony Xperia Z1 Release Date, Review: Waterproof Flagship With 6.4-Inch Display, MicroSD Card & 20MP Camera Makes It A Good Buy

Sony Xperia Z1 release date, review: The Sony Xperia Z1 which has just been made available at Cincinnati Bell is getting great reviews, primarily with its impressive specs and one of a kind design.

The waterproof Sony Xperia Z1 has a 6.4-inch display, Micro SD card for expanded coverage and a 20.7MP camera that snaps high-quality images and is one of the highest camera spec for smartphones in the market. The flagship handset also has a 2.2GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

According to T3, the Sony Xperia Z1 has a clever headphone socket that keeps the water out without the need for a flap on it. The waterproof feature of this 6.4-inch phone definitely is one of the key features that makes it a good buy, plus the storage feature that allows it go up to 64GB thanks to the microSD card slot.

The Xperia Z1 screen is rich, detailed and colorful and is great for smooth video playback, noted T3. It also bundles a short video to show off its screen skills and is pretty impressive.

Camera-wise, the 20.7 megapixel camera the Xperia has is very capable, powerful, fast responsive and delivers great results. T3 in its review noted that the camera defaults to a Superior Auto setting which shoots at 8MP. The full 20MP resolution can be attained by switching to Manual.

The camera comes with an Eye setting, where you see data associated with subjects you photograph. This allows the snapper to identify where the objects or places you are shooting comes from. The Eye setting is user-friendly and has a zoom in that will allow it to recognize the object you’re trying to get info from.

The unlocked base model of the Sony Xperia Z1 starts at $649.99 at the SONY store.
