‘Saturday Night Live’ Twitter Announces December Schedule With Returning Hosts: Justin Timberlake Will Make Fifth Appearance, Second For One Direction
"Saturday Night Live" announced on their Twitter account the December schedule of "Saturday Night Live" hosts, and we're very excited for the next couple of Saturdays! Returning guests include Justin Timberlake and One Direction, who will perform on "Saturday Night Live."
The December schedule of hosts and musical guests for "Saturday Night Live" includes: "Get ready! Dec 7: Paul Rudd/@onedirection; Dec 14: John Goodman/@KingsOfLeon; Dec 21: @jimmyfallon/@jtimberlake! #SNL #CantWait," the "SNL" official Twitter account announced.
"Anchorman 2" star Paul Rudd will host for the third time Dec. 7, with returning musical guest One Direction. This will be the second "Saturday Night Live" appearance for both Rudd and One Direction; Rudd last appeared on "SNL" in 2010, hosting with musical guest Paul McCartney, Entertainment Weekly reports. One Direction first appeared on "SNL" in 2012. Their next album, "Midnight Memories," drops Nov. 25.
On Dec. 14, John Goodman will host "SNL." This will be Goodman's 13th time hosting the show, though he hasn't appeared on "SNL" since 2001, Entertainment Weekly reports. Musical guest Kings of Leon will make their third "Saturday Night Live" appearance.
But fans are probably most looking forward to Dec. 21′s special Christmas episode, which will feature host Jimmy Fallon and musical guest Justin Timberlake. Fallon was a former "SNL" cast member and currently hosts NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." He is set to take over "The Tonight Show" on Feb. 17.
Fallon has surprisingly only been a host on "SNL" once before, in 2011, but has made several cameos since leaving "Saturday Night Live" in 2011, Entertainment Weekly reports. Meanwhile, Timerlake will make his fifth appearance as musical guest, and his second appearance on "SNL" in 2013.
Both Timberlake and Fallon have won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for hosting "SNL" in the past, Entertainment Weekly reports.
