TVXQ Establish A New Record in Oricon’s 45 Year History

TVXQ continues to write new history in Japan as it sets first record every in Oricon’s 45 year history.

The new single ‘STILL’ released on March 14 ranked first on Oricon Weekly Chart after selling 139,000 copies in the first week of release. The duo has managed to achieve 10 singles to rank #1, and another after releasing 2 singles then first from last year album ‘Why? (Keep Your Head Down)’ released last January. This is the first for all foreign singers, including group and solo acts, to become the first group to obtain 10 singles to rank #1 in Oricon’s 45-year history.

‘STILL’ is TVXQ’s 36th Japanese single released on February 14 is a medium tempo-ballad also includes ‘One More Thing’ theme song for BeeTV drama ‘Let M’ starring Erika Sawajiri, making a comeback after 4 year hiatus.

The album claimed first place on Oricon Daily singles chart by selling 84,029 copies on the first day of release and next day sold additional 25,183 copies maintaining the daily ranking #1. The album sold over the total to 100,000 copies within 2 days.

The other singles that entered the top 10 weekly chart is a total of 26 singles since their first single ‘Sky’ ranked in the top 10 on Oricon. The duo became first foreign artist to achieve the most Top 10 singles on Single Chart throughout Oricon history even surpassing BoA who has a total of 25 singles.

New single ‘STILL’ was first performed at Yokohama Arena on January 18 at their first stop on their Japan tour ‘Live Tour 2012: Tone.’

Their upcoming performance in their Japan tour is at Tokyo Dome on April 14-16 followed by the finale performance at Kyocera Dome for three days on April 21-23.
