'Mad Men' Season 7 Spoilers: Jon Hamm Says No Movie After Final Season, Because Can't 'Turn Don Draper Into James Bond'

"Mad Men" season 7 will be the final season of the popular AMC show, but Jon Hamm explains why it is very unlikely "Mad Men" will ever be made into a movie after season 7, despite his "Mad Men" character Don Draper becoming a fan favorite.

''If they ever make 'Mad Men' the movie, I hope they at least cast me in some part. They would probably cast somebody way more famous than me," Jon Hamm joked while promoting the release of "Mad Men" season six on DVD and Blu-ray, when asked about his thoughts on a "Mad Men" movie after the final season, season 7, comes to an end, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

''I don't know, honestly. I think the reason there are very few television shows that become successful films is that they're completely different ways to tell a story. I think that's kind of why there probably won't be a 'Mad Men' movie. It's hard to condense the world that we have into such a small package."

"There's a reason that we're going to watch 'Transformers' movies until we all die, because there are endless iterations of that for 2½ hours that can crash into each other and entertain people," Hamm continued. "We could turn Don Draper into James Bond, make him a spy and run around and kiss pretty girls and rappel down windows, but that's not Mad Men. That's James Bond.''

The Guardian talked to Jon Hamm about how he'll feel when "Mad Men" finishes.

"Will it be sad? Absolutely," Hamm said. "I have made a lot of very close friends on the show. You know, I am feeling pretty zen about it just now, but probably next year I will be crying my eyes out."

Season 7 draws to a close in spring 2015.
