Quechua 5-inch Smartphone Is Rugged & Is For Users With An Active Lifestyle; Device Is Resistant To Shock, Mud, Water, Sand, Cold & Snow

Quechua 5-inch smartphone is rugged and is designed for users on the go. No type of season can seem to quench this device while it’s out in the open. According to GSM Arena, Quechua has released the 5” rugged device and it’s resistant to shock, mud, water, sand, cold and even snow.

The newest smartphone by Quechua was made in association with Archos. The device is IP54 certified and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm, 1GB of RAM, 5-inch display, 5MP rear camera and 4GB of storage.

According to Next Power Up, the unit has a large 3,500 mAh battery which promises to deliver up to 22 hours of talk time. The new unit runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is expected to be sold for €230 (est. $310), but without a date for availability at the moment.

The unit seems to be a direct competitor of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, gaining an immediate upper hand with its prospective price. The Samsung Galaxy S4 active has a sporty style and fast internals, according to CNET, but doesn’t really endorse the unit as a truly rugged phone.

Specs-wise, CNET notes that the waterproof camera seems to be the only element that justified the creation of the brand new S4 variant. It’s being sold for about $639.99, which if compared to the upcoming Quechua 5-inch device is more than twice the price. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has an IP67 rating and like the new Quechua device, also has a 5-inch display.
