Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Review, News: Flagship Windows-Powered Tablet Experiencing Overheating Problems, Not The First Problem Tablet Encountered After Release

Microsoft Surface Pro 2 review, news: The Windows-powered tablet which was released last October 20 is said to be experiencing overheating problems, according to a report by Trusted Reviews. The problem also affects the Microsoft Surface 2 tablet.

The report noted that as the tablet becomes increasingly hot, its screen has been found to dim beyond a usable level. The tech giant has acknowledge the issue and said that it’s working on a fix for the dimming screen. This issue is not the first Windows-powered tablets has encountered. At the interim, Microsoft is suggesting to users affected by the overheating problem to let their Windows 8.1 devices cool down.

“Surface devices may dim the screen as thermal temperatures rise from extended, high CPU intensive activities – like gaming,” an official Microsoft spokesperson said.

“We’re working on a tuning update that will remove this unnecessary dimming event. You can expect this update in an upcoming Windows Update package. In the meantime allow the Surface to cool down for a minute or so in order to return the screen to previous brightness levels.”

According to Trusted Reviews, earlier this month, a software update was rolled out for the Windows-powered Nokia Lumia 2520. The aim was to address battery drain issues and to increase the tablet’s staying power by 25 per cent.

The Surface Pro has been pitched by Microsoft to multi-tasking biz users and this issue could serve as “another stern lesson for Microsoft, which now bills itself as a devices and services company,” reports the Register.
