Cher does not celebrate Thanksgiving. While other celebrities have tweeted their 'thanks' and how they celebrate Thanksgiving, Cher is opposed to the November holiday.

Cher, 67, tweeted to her almost two million Twitter followers that she does not celebrate Thanksgiving.

A fan tweeted, '@Cher you don't celebrate the holiday I thought? Or was that something I was just told?'

Cher, surprisingly responded to the fan:

'I DON'T !' tweeted Cher, explaining that it's a day when she can share a meal with her family and watch a movie.

'Not 2 celebrate the beginning of a GREAT Crime,' she tweeted.

Cher, who has native American ancestry went on to explain what the 'true crime' is.

'Stealing Land, from a ppl, Who believed, Owning Land Was LIke Owning SKY! We gave them Blankets laced w/Smallpox'

Cher is not alone in opposing Thanksgiving. Frontman for the Smith's, Morrissey, is also against the holiday but for different reason. He believes the crime is against the turkeys being slaughtered across the country.

"Please ignore the abysmal example set by President Obama who, in the name of Thanksgiving, supports torture as 45 million birds are horrifically abused, fragged through electrified stun baths, and then have their throats slit," Morrissey wrote. "And President Obama laughs! Haha so funny."

Morrissey write an open letter to President Obama on his website:

"As Ingrid Newkirk from PETA points out, turkey 'meat' is one of 'our nation's top killers,' causing heart attacks and strokes in humans due to saturated animal fats and cholesterol. And President Obama laughs."

"The embarrassingly stupid White House 'turkey pardon' is open support for a viciously cruel and environmentally irresponsible industry," the singer concluded.
