HTC One 2 M8 Release Date Tipped To Be In February In Court Ruling, Nokia Even Has Evidence For It

Even if it is already months old, the HTC One remains one of the top Android phones in the market today. With its huge success, the Taiwanese manufacturer would surely want bank on it in order to turn its profit around in 2014. However, the HTC One 2 M8 release date might have been leaked when a judge ruling mentioned a February release.

In a filing in a court case between HTC and Nokia, a judge has accidentally leaked the supposed release date of the HTC One M8. Here's the statement:

HTC is close to launching the successor flagship model to the HTC One. HTC has not revealed the launch date. Nokia has adduced evidence which suggests that the launch date is in the first quarter of 2014, and possibly as early as February 2014.

According to BBC News, when Nokia provided evidence about the supposed launch, HTC's lawyer did not contradict it, which indirectly means s/he is agreeing with the statement.

The portion was included in the filing because Nokia does not want HTC to manufacturer phones equipped with chips that would infringe the Finnish manufacturer's patents.

Last month, Nokia won the patent case, which experts believe would soon ban the HTC One mini in the UK.

HTC better follow the court's decision and develop the HTC One 2 M8 without any patent issues. Otherwise, they might miss on some huge earning potential given the popularity of its aluminum design.
