iPad Mini Retina vs. Kindle Fire HDX 7: Crowning The Top Slate For Hard-Core Gamers

In the midst of the iPad Mini Retina vs. Kindle Fire HDX 7 battle, a lot of consumers and experts are asking which one performs better in graphic-hungry games and titles. Spec-wise the clear choice should be Amazon's slate, but knowing Apple, the company would not just allow anyone to outplay it in its own game.

When the original iPad mini was released a year ago, its goal was simple: to provide another optional device for Apple lovers who want to have a tablet that is more compact than the company's iPad line. One year later and it has successfully accomplished that goal, while making sure it is capable of running entertainment-enducing apps and games for all sorts of consumers.

On the other hand, Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX actually has two versions - a 7-inch and an 8.9-inch version. It runs on Android, but when you look at the phone's homescreen, app drawer, and even the store - it's all plain and dull. But make no mistake about it, this slate is packed with impressive specs which allow games to run smoothly.

If we compare the Retina mini's performance with that of the Kindle Fire HDX, Amazon's slate clearly has the advantage. Its much powerful quad-core CPU and Adreno 320 GPU take care of memory-eating applications and processes. While Apple's iPad mini 2 remains as the top of the food chain when it comes to overall multi-tasking and performance, the Kindle Fire HDX primarily excels in graphic renders and operations.

If you are a hardcore mobile gamer who wants to enjoy the latest games lag-free, then you may want to check out Amazon's slate. Apple's tablet is also an option, but expect it to be more efficient in tasks other than gaming.
