ZTE Nubia Z5s Release Date: ZTE's Newest Handsets Accumulate 2.5 Million Pre-Orders, Boasts Specs Similar To Galaxy Note 3 At Affordable Pricing

Last month marked the ZTE Nubia Z5s release date, together with its Z5s mini sibling. And after almost a month of pre-order status, the Chinese manufacturer reported that it has received over 2 million pre-orders for the two devices.

In a report by GSM Arena and Business Wire, the two smartphones were able to notch 2.5 million pre-orders from ZTE's retailing partner JD.com. The feat broke Xiaomi's previous record also in the pre-order department, the company claims.

According to the report, the ZTE Nubia Z5s and Z5s mini's cameras and powerful specs may have been the bargain for most of the consumers who made the pre-order.

In case you haven't read about these two siblings yet, the larger Nubia features a 5" screen with 1080p LCD display, quad-core CPU with 2.3GHz, Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2GB of RAM. It also boasts a 13MP primary snapper and a 5MP front cam. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and packs a 2,300mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the Z5s mini should not be left behind as it boasts respectable specs as well. It features a slightly smaller 4.7-inch screen 720p IGZO display, a slower but still capable quad-core 1.7GHz CPU and Snapdragon 600, and the same cameras as the larger Nubia.

In JD.com's page, the Nubia Z5s costs RMB1,999 or about $330 while the Z5s mini is priced at RMB1,499 or about $250.
