Nexus 10 Release Date Pushed Back To Q1 2014? Possible Reasons Why

If you are one of the thousands who are wishing to know the Nexus 10 release date, you will surely be disheartened that rumors are claiming it will be launched next year, and some even go as far as Google not releasing it anymore.

Poised to be the contender to Apple's iPad lineup, the first generation Nexus 10 was launched last year, but it yielded dismal results. While Apple has been racking up millions, Google only managed 600,000 minutes as of Q2 2013 according to IB Times

Now that Apple has completely redesigned the iPad and rebranded it as the Air, Google cannot afford another flop. According to the same report, production costs for the 10" tablet are pretty high, and compromising lower end specs is simply not an option.

And so as the iPad Air dominates the tablet market, Google is forced to take a backseat view while finding a way to match up to Apple's premium slate.

As a result, Paul Briden of KnowYourMobile said that a release in Q1 2014 will be highly likely.

However, if Google decided to shelf the Nexus 10, we can never blame the company.
