LG Optimus G Android 4.4 Update: Facebook Post About Roll Out Of New Google OS To Optimus G Users In Estonia Is False & Incorrect

LG Optimus G Android 4.4 update: There is no update available to KitKat for LG Optimus G users at the moment, according to Gotta Be Mobile who says that a Facebook post on Optimum G getting an Android 4.4 KitKat update in Estonia was incorrect. The South Korea tech giant reached out to GBM to correct the info.

Gotta Be Mobile posted the following statement below (presumably from LG) regarding the news:

“Mistakenly, there has been information spreading via LG Electronics Estonia Facebook page that LG Optimus G (E975) will receive an Android 4.4 KitKat update in Estonia this week. We confirm that it is not so and sincerely apologize for any given false or ambiguous information. We confirm that in Estonia, LG Optimus G did get an update this week that allows users to use 4G internet. The update is available only for operator Elisa clients (https://www.elisa.ee/). But, to confirm once again – it was not Android 4.4 KitKat update.”

LG Optimus G, a 4.7-inch quad-core smartphone was the company’s flagship handset last year. The former flagship is available in the U.S. and is the predecessor of the highly regarded LG G2.

The LG Optimus G was officially released November 11, 2012 and has variants depending on the carrier. In Phone Arena’s spec sheet, the Sprint LG Optimus G has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and 2GB RAM. It has a 13MP primary camera and 1.3MP front-facing sensor. It’s powered with a 2100 mAh battery. The unit is offered free by Sprint on a two-year contract.
