Nexus 8 Rumors: Leaked LG-V510 Is G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition, All Speculations & Assumptions Of Nexus 7 Successor Down To Zero (Again)

Nexus 8 rumors: There has been numerous skepticisms on coming Nexus 8 rumors, since it has spread. The first report on the supposedly upcoming began when an image of a woman holding a slightly larger Nexus 7 device was soon on the Android website. The most “solid” rumors, thus, far on a Nexus 8 came from leaked manual and images of an LG unit dubbed LG-V510.

In a set of open source files downloaded by Droid Life from LG’s site regarding the LG-V510, it showed that the unit is the G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition. As the Android-focused website reports, “If you download the source .zip file and unzip it, you are greeted with three files – two of which call it the ‘G-Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.’”

This means that now the LG-V510 rumor as Nexus 8 has been debunked, all speculations and hearsays of a coming Nexus 8 is officially back to zero.

Google Play Edition devices are top-tier units that is loaded with stock Android instead of their manufacturer’s skins. The units are updated regularly and as swiftly as the ones received by Google’s Nexus brand of handsets and tablets. The LG G Pad 8.3, if it does end up having a Google Play Edition, will be the first tablet of its kind.

It’s very possible that the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition will have the same specs as the non-GPE device, sporting an 8.3-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM and 4600mAh battery.

LG has been Google’s manufacturing partner of choice for both its Nexus 4 and the newly released Nexus 5. The LG G Pad 8.3 was released with great reviews and is seen as a primary competitor to Apple’s iPad Mini.
