‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Enzo Returns In 100th Episode; Is He The Reason For Damon And Elena’s Break Up?

"Vampire Diaries" season 5 spoilers reveal that Enzo will return in the 100th episode, when "Vampire Diaries" airs on the CW again next month. Is Enzo the reason behind Damon and Elena's break up? Executive producer Caroline Dries reveals spoilers about what is to come in the second half of "Vampire Diaries" season 5.

Caroline Dries revealed that Enzo will be back for "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 when the show returns for its 100th episode on January 23, 2014.

TV Line asked Dries what kind of role Enzo will play in "Vampire Diaries" season 5 from this point forward, and she revealed a few spoilers.

"Enzo and Damon have a very complicated relationship. He's holding a grudge [against Damon]," she said. "But at the same time, he also admitted he has no friends. [Laughs] He and Damon went through this horrible, trying time together. If you think about the way soldiers bond over trauma, that's kind of what they went through. So it's not as simple as saying they're enemies or they're friends. They're a mixture of good and bad."

But is Enzo behind Damon and Elena's break up? Brace yourselves, Delena fans!

"Damon's fear is, 'What if I end up changing her? What if I make her bad?'" Dries said.

"[Enzo is] starting to get into his head. So he's starting to think, 'What if I change her?' That's why he made his decision. Going forward, the 100th episode will revisit this fight that they had, this break-up, and he's going to get some good brotherly advice that will push him in the right direction," Dries further explained.

But don't weep yet, Delena fans!

TV Line asked Dries if all hope is lost for Damon and Elena.

"Yeah, no," Dries said. "They just had a big blowout fight/break-up. But we have to see going forward, the next time they're in the same room together, how they deal with it."
