Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth: MTV Artist Of The Year Opens Up About Her Broken Engagement ‘It Was So Fun Wearing A Fat Rock For A Few Years’

Miley Cyrus opened up about her past relationship with ex-fiance 'Hunger Games' star Liam Hemsworth during her interview with Barbara Walters.

The MTV Artist of the Year admitted to Walters that she and Hemsworth might have moved too fast in their relationship and that she was too "scared of being alone."

"I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think, conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had, this entire year," Cyrus told Walters in the interview for the upcoming ABC News special, "Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013."

"I don't ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can't be yourself."

Miley Cyrus, 21, and Liam Hemsworth, 23, started going out following their film "The Last Song" on 2010. The then couple was engaged when Cyrus was just 19 and Hemsworth was just 21, but got into a very public break up last September. Despite the heartbreak following the split, Cyrus can now say that she "can actually be happy" by not depending on other people anymore.

"I don't think I realized what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn't change being engaged," she said. "It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years," Cyrus admitted, "But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy.  I wait for those moments of silence, when I'm just at my house, by myself."

Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Possible Reconcilitation

Some of her singles from her latest and top charting album, "Bangerz," is about love. From the lyrics single "Drive," "I was crazy, thinking you were mine. It was all just a lie," Cyrus was asked if there was anything untruthful about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, but the pop star denied the existence of such.

"I don't think there was any, any lies," she claimed.

Miley Cyrus seemed neutral when asked whether she still wanted to get married and imagine the idea of having someone to spend the rest of her life with saying, Cyrus said, "I think I'll want that in the times that it needs to be."
