Install Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update On Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3; VRUCML1 Firmware Includes ‘Sound And Shoot’ Option For Camera

Finally, Samsung Galaxy S3 users under Verizon can now install official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on their smartphones.

Verizon was the first major carrier in the US to roll out the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on the latest flagship device from Samsung, namely, the Galaxy S4. However, the situation is not the same for the 2012 flagship device from the South Korean smartphone manufacturer as owner of the Verizon variant of Samsung Galaxy S3 had to wait longer.

The official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 under Sprint, US Cellular, T-Mobile and AT&T rolled out last month, as posted on Android Authority.

On the other hand, the firmware for the Verizon model with build number VRUCML1 rolled out just recently. Those who are interested to install the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on their Verizon Galaxy S3 can access the firmware by Over-the-Air notification.

However, users should take note that the update may not be available for all Verizon Galaxy S3 owners instantaneously as it may take some days for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to reach all the Galaxy S3 owners subscribed under Verizon, as it is released in stages.

To see if the OTA update is already available on Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3, users can navigate to Settings > About Device and then to Software Updates.

Some of the features added to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update are Samsung Knox Support and Galaxy Gear. Furthermore, the update also brings in access to Verizon Cloud, support for Bluetooth 4.0 LE devices, and a new option for the camera called "Sound And Shot" as posted on Droid Life.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 users who will opt to update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS should find several improvements on features such as Multi-Window mode, Isis Wallet after the upgrade process. Also, there should be enhancements on call settings, notifications and lock screen. Fixes for some bugs should also be part of the update.
