Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Vivo Announces Xplay 3s, Boasts World's First 2K Display, Quad-Core CPU, Snapdragon 800 SoC, Fingerprint Scanner, 13MP Shooter, Tons Of Other Features

If you are still on the hunt for premium upcoming Android phones 2013, then the latest handset from Vivo surely will not disappoint.

According to a report from GSM Arena, the company has just unveiled Xplay 3s, which boasts a whopping 6" screen. However, the huge screen is not the main event here, but the 2K display (2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution) which makes it the world's first phone with such resolution.

Given the display's dimensions and resolution, the Xplay 3s' screen boasts an industry-topping 490ppi pixel density, which is even more impressive than the HTC One's 4.7" 1080 screen considering there is more than an inch of difference between the two.

While the Xplay 3s boasts the world's best screen to date, it also houses powerful internals which could certainly match the heavyweights in the phablet category. Vivo's handset sports a Snapdragon 800 chipset, a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, Adreno 330 for heavy graphic performance and 3GB of RAM.

Among upcoming Android phones in 2013, the Vivo Xplay 3s also features one of the best camera specs - 13 megapixels for its primary snapper, while there is a 5MP shooter in front. While capability of shooting QHD videos is not yet present, we are absolutely on its way to getting there in the months to come. One cool camera feature is the support for augmented reality.

On-board the Xplay 3s is a skinned Android version which Vivo dubbed as Funtouch OS. It looks quite impressive and as seen from the hands-on video , it is snappy and highly responsive.

To top it off, the phablet has 32GB of internal memory, a fingerprint reader at the back, and a 3,200mAh battery.

According to the report, the Vivo Xplay 3s will begin selling in China before New Year at CNY 3,498 or about $580.
