Duck Dynasty Family Reacts After Phil Robertson Suspended Over Anti Gay Remarks, Threatens To Quit, Will Controversy Affect Duck Dynasty Season 5 Premier?

Duck Dynasty family wants Phil Robertson back on the show, after the family patriarch was suspended
from the show following the outcry over his anti-gay remarks.

According to CNN, the Robertson family came to the rescue of Phil Robertson, saying that the comments he made were his own, arising out of his unshakable belief in Christianity.

"While some of Phil's unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded
in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest
commandments... Phil would never incite or encourage hate," said the Robertson family members.

Commenting on Phil's indefinite suspension from the A&E network's TV show, Duck Dynasty, the
Robertson scions said that the TV show is unimaginable without Phil.

"We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his
constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as
a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in
discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty," they said.

A&E network, on Thursday, had announced the suspension of the octogenarian Duck Commander, after the uproar over the anti-gay comments he made in the interview with GQ magazine.

He referenced to homosexuality as a sin and said, "Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the
idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers,
the swindlers-they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."

As the Duck Dynasty season 5 premier date nears, the Robertson family and the A&E network are trying to resolve the controversy so as to gain record breaking viewership. Meanwhile, the Duck Dynasty
fans have started social media petitions on Twitter, Facebook and Change.org for the reversal of Phil
Robertson's suspension.
