Minecraft PS4 Release Date Set For 2014: Upcoming Edition For PlayStation 4 and PS Vita Currently In The Works; 4J Studios Testing Out Patch 1.02 For PS3 Version

Mojang stated some tiny details regarding Minecraft PS4 release date.

After the release of the PS3 version of the hit open-world sandbox game this week, gamers are now looking forward to the announcement regarding Minecraft PS4 release date. Also, the game will also e ported to PS Vita, but the launch schedule has not been announced yet.

According to a post on the official PlayStation Blog site, which was written by Owen Hill of Mojang, as cited by Examiner, Minecraft PS4 and PS Vita editions are still currently in the works. Because of this, the game company cannot offer yet a more specific Minecraft PS4, PS Vita release date. But Hill guarantees that Minecraft PS4, PS Vita release date will happen sometime in 2014.

The post read, "Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition and Minecraft: PS Vita Edition are also being developed, but we don't have release dates yet. Expect them sometime next year."

For the meantime, gamers can only enjoy the PS3 edition of Minecraft. Downloadable contents such as skin and texture packs were also released shortly after the arrival of Minecraft PS3 edition. Festive Skin Pack is now available for $0.99. 

As for updates regarding Minecraft PS3 edition, "4J Studios has already put patch 1.02 for Minecraft: PS3 Edition in test," as posted on PlayStation Lifestyle. Accordingly, the patch is expected to fix some of the issues experienced by gamers so far. For instance, the group chat audio drops after one person leaves the session.

The port arrived on December 17 on the PlayStation 3. 4J Studios, the company behind the port of Mojang's phenomenal sandbox video game to Microsoft Xbox 360 is also the one responsible in making the PS3 version of Minecraft. Moreover, the company is also the one in-charge of the Minecraft PS4 iteration, as well as the PS Vita and Xbox One editions.
