iPad Pro Rumors: What We Think We Know About The Alleged 12.9" iPad

iPad Pro rumors have been pouring down since the last two iPads (Air and mini 2) were launched late in October. And so far, we have gathered a number of cool information, speculations and rumors about the allegedly bigger Apple tablet. 

During the past couple of months, here are some of the rumors which have filled the rumor mill:

It will be named the iPad Pro

Similar to what Apple has been doing with its brand over the past couple of years, an upgraded device usually bears the branding 'Pro'. The company has already did the same with its Macbook lineup, and there is no reason why it would not do the same when it launches a more powerful iPad. 

It would sport a 12.9" display

12.9 inches of screen estate is not the usual dimensions for a tablet, and considering the device's size, it could be one heavy tablet. However, as laptop sales continue to dip year over year and tablet sales continue to rise steadily, this might be the right move for Apple. Other rumors are already claiming that Samsung is also working on a 12" tablet, so that means we are getting to that particular avenue in development. 

It will have two variations

Apple has just released two new iPhones this year, the first in company history. And rumors are pointing out that it would not be the last in terms of devices on the same category. Recent reports claim that the iPad Pro will have a 2K display version which is set to be launched in April, and one with an even crisper 4K resolution to be announced in October. 

It will have an iPad keyboard case

Because the rumored 12.9" iPad will be almost two inches bigger than Apple's 11-inch MacBook Air, it would surely be a necessity for the tablet to have a keyboard case which would make it more like a mini laptop computer than a tablet. And because the keyboard can easily be attached to the slate, users have the luxury of changing from tablet to laptop mode easily. 

2014 is fast approaching and we sure hope at least two or three of these rumors about the iPad Pro turn out to be true. That is, if it is going to be launched in the first place.
