Dwayne Wade highlighted 2013 by finally putting a ring on Gabrielle Union's finger, whom he has been dating for four years.

An excited Gabrielle, posted a photo of her hand with the engagement ring featuring an 8.5 carat diamond. " Sooooo this happened... #Yessss."

After Wade and Union announced their engagement at the social media site Instagram on Saturday-with his simple posting "She said YES!!!"--E! News published more details about the rock.

Jason Arasheben, owner of Jason of Bevery Hills, told the online news network that the ring is easily worth nearly $1 million.

He added: "Dwayne Wade was 100% involved in the process. I made three personal visits to Miami to present different options until they found the perfect one. Wade picked out the stone and they made the ring custom."

Araheben said the engagement being one of Dwayne Wade highlights for 2013 was no accident since the Miami Heat star guard has been planning it for months.

He said Wade was "very particular about finding the right stone for Gabrielle."

"He was hands on in the process he and I worked together to make sure they got the perfect ring for Gabrielle," the jeweler said.

The couple has not released any details about the date and venue for the wedding but judging by the ring, it's easy to surmise that it's going to be one of the best weddings of the year.

Both Wade and Gabrielle started dating in 2009 and they apparently broke up, as Wade revealed on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno in September 2013.

"For us, this was a big year for our relationship from the standpoint she was shooting her show, Being Mary Jane and gone most of the year. I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship. So we kind of took a step back," the NBA Champ stated.

Fortunately, the breakup was only short-lived and now we get to see the engagement among Dwayne Wade's highlights of 2013.
