Gwyneth Paltrow Vanity Fair Feud Ends; Graydon Carter Will Run Puff Piece

Gwyneth Paltrow's feud with Vanity Fair is over. Graydon Carter says the storied magazine will run a piece on Gwyneth Paltrow, but it won't be as bad as it was supposed to be.

Maybe it was a small Christmas miracle that the celebrity feud is being called off. Maybe Gwyneth Paltrow and Graydon Carter didn't want to be on the naughty list. But Gwyneth Paltrow and Graydon Carter have "buried the hatchet."

The Gwyneth Paltrow Vanity Fair feud started when Graydon Carter, the editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair, assigned Hollywood writer Vanessa Grigoriadis to write an upcoming profile on Paltrow to be featured in the magazine.

Gwyneth tried to blocking the profile from happening. She e-mailed her friends saying, "Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine . . . If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again."

That wasn't going to stop Graydon Carter who still planned to run the story. In October, Carter said "We started a story on her. We have a very good writer, and it'll run."

Now the celebrity and the editor-in-chief have called a cease-fire. A source told US Weekly, "Gwyneth and Graydon spoke on the phone a few weeks ago. They worked out some of their differences."

According to Us Weekly, if a story runs on Paltrow in Vanity Fair it will be toned down. The source said, "There may be a story, but it won't be as bad as it originally was going to be."

Rumors were circulating that the Vanity Fair article was going to include information about alleged infidelity in Paltrow's marriage. Gwyneth denied that there were problems. The insider told Us Weekly "The story was never going to be as bad as tabloids were guessing. That whole angle about the alleged affairs was something that was made up by Page Six and was never something that anyone at Vanity Fair believed was legitimate and was never going to be in a story they were working on."

Gwyneth Paltrow is married to Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of Coldplay.
