Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Alcatel Unveils Octa-Core Smartphone, Boasts 2GHz CPU, 2GB Of RAM, 2,500mAh Battery
In spite the year closing, there are still a number of upcoming Android phones in 2013, one of which comes from Alcatel.
In a report by GSM Arena, Alcatel has finally unveiled its Idol X+ smartphone and is now available for pre-order in China for only $330 both locked and unlocked in the country's various carriers.
In case you haven't read about previous rumors, the Idol X+ boasts an octa-core MT6592 chipset with each CPU clocked at 2GHz and 2GB of RAM, perfect for high quality graphics and application performance.
The Alcatel smartphone also sports a 5-inch 1080p IPS display like the older Idol X, as well as the 13-megapixel rear snapper for gorgeous-looking shots and video recording.
Aside from the phone, a huge plus in the Idol X+ pacakge is the included Boom band. It is a wearable Bluetooth plastic sports wristband that enables its user to track performance in several sports applications. It is also an anti-theft device that automatically triggers if your phone gets too far away from you. The bonus wristband comes in a variety of colors for more buyer options.
Availability of the Idol X+ in China has already been announced, and it will begin shipping next year. We'll keep you updated if an international variant will hit stores as well.
