Duck Dynasty Cast Phil Robertson & Family Put The ‘Anti-Gay’ Controversy Behind Them & They’re ‘Looking Forward To Getting Back To Work’

Duck Dynasty cast Phil Robertson and the rest of the Robertson family is now putting the "anti-gay" controversy behind them.

An insider from the Robertson family claims that the family is ready to forget about the recent controversy the patriarch of the family went through recently.

The Robertson family is now ready to move forward and let the past behind them - the controversy involving their patriarch that almost led to the cancellation of their hit reality TV show the "Duck Dynasty."

According to the source, who told People magazine, the America's most loved reality family is relieved that A&E has decided to bring "Duck Dynasty" cast Phil Robertson back after suspending him from the show, following his anti-gay comments from GQ magazine.

"The family is happy that they can put this behind them," the source revealed.

When A&E previously announced that they will suspend Phil Robertson "indefinitely" the whole Robertson family threatened the show's future, suggesting that they would not return to the show until Phil is reinstated from the show.

When Duck Dynasty cast Phil Robertson made his homophobic and racist claims on GQ magazine, the whole nation went crazy. He has sparked a controversy so big that not only ordinary people got involved, entertainers and politicians and groups representing different culture and beliefs had their take on the issue. While, many were mad and accused Phil of being homophobic and racist, there were also their loyal supporters who came to defend him, claiming his freedom of speech is being held against him.

 However, the insider told People magazine that, "It got a little out of hand," the source explained. "Phil has never been disrespectful to anyone and treats everyone with kindness. He made some comments off the cuff that he shouldn't have made, and he knows that."

Despite all the ruckus Phil Robertson's comments caused, the whole family stayed by his side, according to the source.

"The family knows his heart and knows that he wasn't trying to be hurtful," the insider told the magazine. "They just want to finish celebrating the holidays and are looking forward to getting back to work."

However, Duck Dynasty cast Phil Robertson's return to the show did not end the controversy, the gay rights movement GLAAD made a statement saying, "If dialogue with Phil is not part of (the) next steps, then A&E has chosen profits over African-American and gay people - especially its employees and viewers."
