Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving Injury Update: All-Star PG Set For MRI, How Long Will He Be Out?

After losing Andrew Bynum to 'indefinite' suspension, the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers has suffered another blow as they lost all-star point guard Kyrie Irving who injured his knee during their road loss to Indiana Pacers.

The 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year said he "felt a pop" on his knee during a fast break play in the third quarter before he fell down. In a report by Conrad Brunner of NBA.com, Irving said:

"I thought the worst happened. I continued to play but I felt something pop in my knee and I was falling down around all over the place. I'm going to have an MRI tomorrow and we'll see how it goes. But it was a painful experience. When I went back out it still didn't feel right."

"It's probably something slight, if anything at all," Irving said. "I'm going to hope for the best, honestly. Right now, it's a little bit of a painful experience but it's something I'll get through."

The league announced that 'Uncle Drew' is now set for a MRI to determine if he would need surgery but as per NBA Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski tweet:

"The MRI on Kyrie Irving's left knee is considered precautionary, league sources tell Yahoo. No damage expected to be found."

Leagues sources also said that Irving's condition is day-to-day.

With Irving out, basketball experts have opened up talks about Cleveland Cavaliers' next move to strengthen their line up. One of the most talked about topics is the Andrew Bynum-Pau Gasol trade. The two players, who have won championships with the Los Angeles Lakers years ago, have been at the center of trade rumors lately.

Bleacher Report reported that Lakers can take Bynum for Gasol in order "to lessen the amount of talent on the current roster-all for the purpose of making the future easier on Kobe Bryant."

On the other hand, the Cavs seem fed up with Bynum's antics and are looking to rid themselves of the 26-year old center.
