James Blunt Now Engaged To Duke’s Granddaughter Sofia Wellesley; Couple To Have Star-Studded Summer Wedding In England

British singer James Blunt and his girlfriend Sofia Wellesley will finally tie the knot. Last Christmas, the 35-year-old singer has already proposed to his lady love.

"Everyone is talking about it. We were sort of expecting it but it is still great news," claims one of the couple's friends to Daily Mail. Blunt and Wellesley started dating in 2012 when they got introduced to each other by the 'You're Beautiful' singer's elder sister, Daisy.

Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington's granddaughter, attended Edinburgh University together with Pippa Middleton. She is working as a legal consultant for a firm in London. In a previous interview, the crooner admitted how blessed he was for having someone who could understand him and his career.

"I'm very happy at the moment with Sofia. It takes a strong person to be able to deal with somebody working in music. It's hard when you're with somebody and you become embroiled in something just because you were seen standing next to someone else. It takes a tough person to deal with that and I'm lucky to have her," the 'Bonfire Heart' singer explains.

The couple will reportedly have a summer wedding in the bride-to-be's Hampshire estate in England. The nuptials will be far from intimate as it will include several stars specifically Sir Elton John who played a significant role in Blunt's career.
