Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: Acer Unleashes 2 Iconias For New Year, Boasts Intel Processors, 1GB Of RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Acer has not been too popular in the mobile world, but with recent announcements of its upcoming Android tablets for 2014, we can never tell if it retains that position.

Known for aggressively priced devices, Acer has quite done well in emerging markets where it is seen as a cheaper alternative to much expensive Android slates with similar specifications.

First of the two is the 7.9-inch Iconia A1-830 which packs an Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology instead of the usual Snapdragons or MediaTeks. The decision may be a bit odd, but who knows, it may perform better in this mobile form. The display has Full HD resolution which Acer claims to have viewing angles of up to 178 degrees.

Under the hood lies 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a battery that is reported to last up to 7.5 hours. There is also a 5MP rear view snapper and a 2-megapixel front cam.

Meanwhile, the Acer Iconia B1-720 boasts a bit lower-spec'd features, but at an affordable pricetag. Packed with a 7-inch display, a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and 1GB of RAM, this Android tablet is sure to capture the hearts of consumers who want to get a bang for their buck.

It also comes with 16GB of internal memory with an option to expand via a microSD card, and a battery that lasts 5 hours. In the report by GSM Arena, both the Acer Iconia A1-830 and B1-720 comes cheap, with only a price tag of about $230 and $176 respectively.
