In a recent interview, Idris Elba touched on the rumors surrounded him possibly becoming the next James Bond.

He revealed that there is "no truth" behind taking the legendary role from fellow actor Daniel Craig.

Although Elba is not taking on the iconic film series, he touched on how annoyed he gets when people pay so much attention to Bond's race.

"I've always detested the phrase 'Black Bond', I just don't understand it," Elba said in an interview with ITV's Lorraine. "We don't say 'White Bond', we just say 'Bond', so it suddenly becomes a black man and he's a 'Black Bond'. So I hate that phrase - and it's a rumor that's gotten out of control, basically - but that's all it is. There's no truth in it whatsoever."

Elba is currently in the midst of his success with playing the late international humanitarian Nelson Mandela in the biopic "Long Walk To Freedom." He claims he endured "the toughest scenes" of his career when starring in the movie.

On of those scenes was when Mandela was in prison and received word that his son has died. Elba thought about his own child at the time.

"That was one of the toughest scenes I've ever had to play," he said. "I was in South Africa millions of miles away from my own daughter and it just brought tears to my eyes knowing that if anything happened to my kid I wasn't allowed to run back to my kid as soon as possible, that would be heartbreaking."
