Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie News: Chris Pratt Nervous About His Role As Star Lord Saying, I'm Nervous There's More Pressure On Me

Guardians of the Galaxy movie news:

While, Chris Pratt did sign on for a lead role on the film without having to read the script, he recently said that he's actually "nervous" about his role.

"Just the fact that he was part of the Marvel brand was really exciting," Pratt talking about his character as Peter Quill better known as Star Lord to Fandango. "I was signed up to do the movie before I was even allowed to read a script, so it wasn't like something about this particular character that got me to do it. The fact that it was a Marvel movie is what got me to do it."

However, despite his excitement the "pressure" of taking on such a big role did get into him.

"I'm nervous. There's more pressure on me. I'm in good hands, I'm excited. The outfit was amazing. I had this leather jacket. Oh boy. It was so much fun to wear," as he told Britain's Esquire magazine.

The 34-year old actor who is set to play the lead role revealed that, "Granted, once I did read it there were so many things about the character that I love, and one thing is that he's very much a kid at heart," Pratt said. "He's like a man-child. And I like the idea that he's got a false sense of bravado. Deep down inside he's lonely and desperate. But on the outside he walks around like he's big and tough, and I don't think he does a great job of convincing everybody that he's not just a scared little child."

Meanwhile, the funny actor is also busy working on his new project "Delivery Man" wherein he portrays the role of a single father who shows the truth about the hardships of raising a child singlehandedly.

And while Pratt is lucky to have his wife Anna Faris to share parenting responsibilities to their 16-month old son Jack, he said that he could relate to some of the scenes from the film.

"It was an opportunity to say terrible things about your children in front of them, but in a way that doesn't threaten them or make them feel [you don't] love them. The British do that, taking the piss out of each other. I like that. Also, it was an opportunity to gain weight."
