Jennifer Lawrence, 'American Hustle' Star, Admits She Makes a 'Fool' of Herself; 'I Don't Think Before Speaking'

"American Hustle" star Jennifer Lawrence admits that she can make a "fool" of herself from time to time.






Lawrence, who had a classic tumble when accepting her Oscar for Best Actress, blames her epic fail behavior on her impulsive personality.






"There are so many things that I do and say which come out wrong because I don't think before speaking," said the 23-year-old, according to  Now  magazine.






Her legendary fall at the Oscar has made her a bit fearful of red carpet events.






"I make a fool of myself easier than anyone I know. I get so nervous before going down red carpets - particularly after that fall at the Oscars," said Lawrence. "‘I've tripped at least a couple of other times, too. I managed to forget to thank both the director and producer when I went on stage, so I wondered what was worse?"






The "American Hustle" actress credits her mom for letting her be her clumsy self.






"My mom taught me to laugh at myself. What else can I do?" said Lawrence to  The Sun   "She is there to catch me, in every way. Nothing is ever said like: 'Make sure you put one foot in front of the other.'"






However, Lawrence did confess she wants to perfect herself.






"I can be quite rude and use some bad language. I am trying to clean up my act. But my mom always taught me that being natural was best."
