‘Batman Vs Superman’ Plot Spoilers - Wonder Woman's Role Similar To Black Widow; Writers Tweak Amazons As Krypton Descendants

As the year ended with an unprecedented number of superhero casting rumors, the question of putting it all together was still discussed by aficionados. With Wonder Woman confirmed in the movie, how will she fit in a Man of Steel sequel with a working title of 'Batman Vs Superman?'

The official announcement of Wonder Woman in the movie blew up all the 'Justice League' rumors, with observers pointing out the difficulty of integrating the Amazon Princess mythology with the Metropolis based sequel. There were suggestions that she will be an end credit teaser, the way Marvel does it.

However, the announcement was too grand for just a mid-credits cameo and Gal Gadot has been very vocal about her preparations for the role. Will Wonder Woman play a major role? After all, Warner Bros. has always maintained that the 'Batman Vs Superman' title is bound to change.

Batman on Film has addressed that question in their mailbag. Quoting 'inside information,' site owner Jett Ramey gave this assessment on the extent of Wonder Woman's role:

"Personally, I'd say it'll be about on par with Scarlett Johansson's first appearance as Black Widow in IRON MAN 2. I believe that it's a cameo-plus type of role that will (hopefully) serve as a springboard to a solo Wonder Woman movie."

It must be a tad more than that, since Black Widow is not as iconic a character as Wonder Woman, and we have yet to hear any development of a Black Widow solo feature despite a hyperactive rumor mill.

Ramey takes a step further, as he takes a shot with a theory on the revised Wonder Woman origin:

..the "Amazons" of this cinematic DCU will be descendants of those "ancient Kryptonians" who attempted to set up Kryptonian outposts throughout spacedom thousands and thousands of years ago. Furthermore, I say that Wonder Woman will be powered-down, if you will, relative to Superman because these Amazons have evolved and adapted to living on Earth for hundreds of centuries. And since Kryptonians are produced without any "He'n and She'n" - Jor El and Lara excluded - couldn't this original Kryptonian on Earth have used this reproductive science to create an all-female race? I say yes!"

Not entirely far-fetched. In Man of Steel, they expanded the role of the Kryptonians and it was shown that Jor El was involved in scientific procedures to 'extend' their race. Genetic engineering and evolution would be peanuts for a race more advanced than we are.

We'll have to wait until July 17, 2015 when the movie is released. In the meantime, stay tuned to Kpopstarz for the latest rumor update.
