Steven Seagal Lawman: Veteran Action Movie Star Considering Running For Governor Or Is It Just A Publicity Stunt For His Reality Series?

Steven Seagal Lawman, no not his reality TV series, but as a Governor of Arizona?

Reports came in that the veteran action movie star is seriously considering running for governor in Arizona to replace Governor elect Jan Brewer from her office.

The 61-year old action star told KNXV-TV during his interview to promote his new show "Steven Seagal - Lawman: Maricopa County," that he's weighing bid for the state's highest office.

The "Hard To Kill" actor who teamed up with self-proclaimed toughest Sheriff in the country Joe Arpaio is a member of Arpaio's group, which is made up of 3,000 unpaid civilians aim to increase border security in the country.

"Steven Seagal: Lawman: Maricopa County" TV series, which was shot entirely in Arizona will be aired on Reelz Channel.

Seagal is also known to have been deputized with sheriff's offices in other states including, Mexico, Texas and Louisiana.

When Seagal was deputized in Mexico last year, Doña Ana County sheriff spokesperson Kelly Jameson said that the martial arts expert is already considered as a reserve officer. The New Mexico law states that he can carry out police duty only when he is with a commissioned peace officer.

"Mr. Seagal has spent decades in law enforcement training, and has a special interest in the unique challenges our department faces along the border," Undersheriff Eddie Lerma said in a statement. "He has been an asset to other border communities, where he believes public safety is of particular concern. We are honored to bring that experience to this department as well."

Steven Seagal has been very serious on increasing the borderline security, which has been the problem of many Border States in the country dealing with drug cartels and human trafficking.

Although, Seagal's intention for saying that he's considering running for the state's highest office is still unclear, since it could all just be a publicity stunt to promote his new series, the martial arts expert could also be sincere in his interest in protecting the country.
