Eva Longoria Named As Maxim’s ‘Woman of the Year’; ‘Desperate Housewives’ Actress Proud Of Her Award And Her Newly-Finished Thesis

Eva Longoria definitely has many things to be thankful for because she is starting the year as Maxim's 'Woman of the Year'. Last Monday, the magazine officially announced that the coveted title belongs to the 38-year-old actress.

Eva Longoria's Maxim journey started in 2005 when she nabbed the top spot for its 'Hot 100' list. The following year, she similarly topped the list.

"It's especially awesome after how long it's been since my first cover. I've had a beautiful relationship with Maxim over all these years," says the 'Desperate Housewives' actress to Us Weekly.

Despite her achievement, Longoria admits that she prefers to be a homebody: "One thing people are usually surprised about when they get to know me is how domestic I am. So when you see the sexy Maxim cover and then you put it against me in an apron with flour in my hair, it takes a moment to reconcile that image."

Apart from being an accomplished actress, she also puts great value on education. She recently earned her master's degree in Chicano studies from California State University. Prior to having her interview with Maxim, the 'Over Her Dead Body' star just finished her thesis.

"I was like, 'My brain can't jump that fast from a Maxim interview to a thesis!' Back in high school I really was the chameleon, too. I got along with the honors Math club, then I would go to cheerleading practice and then I was a band geek as well," adds the multi-tasking actress.

Longoria's exclusive cover for Maxim is scheduled to be released this January 17.
