Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: Sony Rumored To Launch A Snapdragon 800-Powered Slate At The MWC, Dubbed 'Castor'

One week into the year and we already see a bunch of new upcoming Android tablets for 2014. And while Sony has not made any tablet announcements during its press conference at the CES event, the manufacturer may do so at the MWC in February.

According to notorious leakster EV Leaks, a Sony tablet named Castor will soon be unveiled. In the tweet, the leakster mentioned that the Droid slate will feature a MSM8974AB processor, which translates to Snapdragon 800 SoC. Moreover, it would also come in Wi-Fi and LTE versions.

Obviously, we should take this rumor with more than a pinch of salt as Sony has not made any announcements about the matter. Nevertheless, this would be a great strategy for the Japanese manufacturer to take on other Android tablets, especially the ones released by Samsung during the CES in Las Vegas.

We'll keep you posted on the latest updates about the Sony Castor.
