Dell Venue 8 Pro Review, Specs: Windows 8.1 Unit’s Processor, Performance & Design Convinces Reviewer That ‘Microsoft Finally Nailed It’ With This Tablet

Dell Venue 8 Pro review, specs: The performance, speed and overall look of the Dell Venue 8 Pro, currently priced at $279 at the Microsoft Store convinces one tech reviewer that “Microsoft may have finally nailed it” with this Windows-powered slate.

Microsoft’s new breed of tablets, powered with the full version of Windows 8.1 is best represented by the Venue 8 Pro, says Patrick Gray of the Tech Republic. He describes the Dell Venue 8 Pro as having a business-like black look, with a rubberized back to the device. It makes the unit easy to hold with one hand. The reviewer note that the 8-inch screen is worth it, as it makes it more portable and mobile.

Connectivity options for the Dell Venue 8 Pro is limited. It only has a micro USB port and micro SD card slot.

According to the Tech Republic writer, the Dell Venue 8 Pro performs well with common business tasks and puts the Surface RT to shame on opening and closing modern and standard applications. Thanks in part to the new Bay Trail Atom processors by Intel, the processing power is at par with the needs of the regular user that requites productivity apps to work on the go.

A huge plus for the Dell Venue 8 Pro is its screen, all-day battery and easy to transport size. Though it does have some downside, primarily when it comes to charging and requiring you to reboot to get to WiFi after putting it in airplane mode, the mishaps on this tablet is minor compare to how it can perform.

As the experience of the reviewer notes, it seems that the Dell Venue 8 Pro is the compelling tablet of choice for the business user who needs something handy, useful and Windows 8.1-powered at the same time.

The Dell Venue 8 Pro is far from the aesthetics and premium feel of the Apple iPad Mini, but it doesn’t seem to aim for that. It’s goal is squarely on keeping you productive, on a small, lightweight and handy screen, while on the go.
Originally priced at $299.99, the Dell Venue 8 Pro with 2GB memory and 32GB storage is available at the Microsoft Store for $20 less. It includes free shipping and returns according to the store’s website.
