‘Batman Vs Superman’ Plot Spoilers - Wonder Woman As Kryptonian Debunked; Amazon Princess Will Wear Armor, Not The Tiny Provocative Costume
‘Batman Vs Superman’ is the toast of the rumor mill. Even the plot spoilers are subject to intense debate. Every minute detail makes the news of this highly anticipated movie, even the costumes. Iconic Wonder Woman, for instance, is bound for a makeover.
A recent ‘theory’ in response to reader’s queries was received with much criticism, and may have been overblown. Read the theory here.
Now, a dispute has officially been declared, quite strongly, by Bad Ass Digest (why not?):
“Yesterday a rumor blazed across the internet, and it turns out it was the first bullshit movie rumor of 2014 – that Wonder Woman in ‘Batman vs Superman’ would be Kryptonian. Everybody got mildly irritated. But it turns out they didn’t have to be – multiple sources are telling me that this concept for Wonder Woman’s origin is not going to be used in the film.”
Most of the internet sleuths have unnamed sources, and some of these sites boast of good track records. Studios have already given up on trying on keeping news under the carpet, and has since relied on ‘misdirection’ as a tactic. This is a probable explanation for what most people perceive as an ‘outlandish origin story.’
Jett Ramer of Batman on Film has also picked up on the negative responses, and has issued a clarification:
“Apparently, several outlets picked up on what I wrote in the mailbag below – especially my take on how Amazons might be explained in ‘Batman vs. Superman’ – and claimed that I was reporting it as fact and/or that it was a ‘rumor’ I had heard. They. Are. All. WRONG.
“It’s nothing more than me guessing how Goyer and Snyder might characterize Wonder Woman and the origin of the Amazons. Carry on…”
Prudence and restraint are alien terms for a rumor mill that thrives on speed and sensationalism. The art of getting the controversial, interesting scoop has become a complicated operation.
The latest tidbit about Wonder Woman, so far the only confirmed and casted character aside from Batman and Superman, is about her costume.
While the image of Lynda Carter in the 70s with the iconic and revealing Wonder Woman costume is extremely hard to shake off, Zach Snyder is bringing a more medieval, warrior type look to the Amazon princess, not too far off the costumes from ‘300.’ Rumor mill staple El Mayimbe, who encourages readers to re-tweet and embed his scoops, shares:
