Angelina Jolie As Nigella Lawson? ‘Unbroken’ Actress May Portray British Celebrity Chef's Divorce Drug Abuse And Courtroom Troubles In Unnamed Movie

Angelina Jolie as Nigella Lawson is reportedly the first choice for yet-to-be-finalized movie portraying the life of the top British chef, especially the recent courtroom drama, drug abuse revelations and highly publicized divorce from husband Charles Saatchi in the earlier half of 2013.

According to a report published in Sun and Daily Mail Online, the 'Unbroken' star may consider doing the project, though she "had planned to take a lot of time off next year."

"She has been gripped like everyone else by all the drama surrounding Nigella these past few months and thinks she is a remarkable woman," the report added.

Nigella Lawson fought a case against her former domestic helps, who were eventually acquitted from charges of fraud by the jury. In a media interview, the Grillo sisters said that though they were proved not guilty, the court case generated positive publicity and 'public support' for their former top-notch employer.

During the course of the trial, 'The Taste' host admitted to taking cocaine during 'crucial times' in her life, especially to cope up with the terminal illness and death of her late husband John Diamond. However, she maintained that she was not addicted to cocaine or any other form of drug abuse.

Her now divorced husband Charles Saatchi testified to the drug abuse claims levied by Elisabetta and Francesca Grillo.  He, reportedly, makes appearance at the Scott's restaurant, along with Trinny Woodall.

The self-made television chef is currently hosting the second series of The Taste.

There is no confirmation yet regarding the movie or casting Angelina Jolie in the lead. The 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' actress is busy spending time with her partner Brad Pitt and children, simultaneously working on her movies 'Maleficent' and  self-directorial venture 'Unbroken'.

She created a lot of buzz in 2013 by undergoing preventive double mastectomy to ward off breast cancer. She had 87% chance of developing cancerous legions because of a "defective BRCA1 gene."
