Big Bang Captivates 30,000 Vietnamese Fans

Big Bang is truly proving to be global representative of K-Pop wave.

The group visiting Vietnam for the first time on April 13 was greeted at Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Airport over 2,000 fans. Despite the groups late arrival some of the fans have been reported to have been waiting since morning however due to safety concerns Big Bang was led out through an emergency exit.

Even before Big Bang’s arrival Vietnam was filled with excitement, fans have been reportedly posting up placard welcoming Big Bang after the group was confirmed for their appearance. Also the local media in Vietnam were providing live updates to the fans with great interest.

Big Bang’s performance in Vietnam was for ‘SoundFest 2012’ as the only Korean artist along with local Vietnamese as well as overseas artist like Taio Cruz and Kimberly Caldwell. The performance took place at ‘Phu Tho Outdoor Stadium’ with 30,000 audiences performing a total of 6 songs that includes ‘Tonight,’ ‘Hands Up,’ ‘Band Boy,’ ‘Fantastic Baby,’ ‘Lies’ and ‘Last Farewell.’ The audience went wild cheering for their first live stage performance in Vietnam.

Just days before the visit to Vietnam Big Bang made a short visit to Taiwan for the first time as well. At that time the group was greeted by 1,200 fans recording the largest number of crowds as a foreign artist.

Big Bang’s popularity has been well noted as the group 5ith mini-album swept various Korean music charts, crowned double platinum in Taiwan without a single promotion, entered the Billboard 200 chart with a Korean album, and has been featured in several well-known media outlets such as Perez Hilton, Gawker and TIME magazine.

Big Bang will kick off the Japanese leg of their worldwide tour ‘2012 Big Bang ALIVE Tour’ this May visiting 5 cities in Japan.
