Yvonne Strahovski; I’ Frankenstein Is An Action Movie With A Lot Of Heart; Also, ‘Dexter’ Alum Discusses Her Upcoming Appearance In Fox’s 24
"It's a big action movie with a lot of heart," - this is what Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski said of her new film I, Frankenstein which stars Aaron Eckhart.
The movie, which hit theaters Friday is one of the few movies that Strahovski have appeared and she said that she is very thankful for being a part of the project. The 'Dexter' and 'Chuck' alum said that she accepted this horror-action movie because it gives her a lot of appeals.
"I love accents and got to be British in this movie," she said. "And I got to go home to Australia. We filmed in Melbourne and friends and my parents came down from Sydney."
In terms of the effect of the film on her, she got to know what monsters in real life are.
"Stuart (Beattie, the writer-director) wanted to emphasize the monster realizing he doesn't have to be a monster; he can have a soul and be a better person. I'm the person who inspires him to be a better person.
"I have the line, 'You're only a monster if you behave like one.'"
The 31-year old actress has played all sorts of role before. She played the CIA agent Sarah Walker in Chuck and the girlfriend of serial killer Dexter Morgan. In this film, she plays Terra, a woman with different personality compared to what she has portrayed before.
"She's not a physical fighter but she tries to fight back. She's a woman of strong morals who is trying to reanimate a dead rat for the sake of the greater good: to help humanity and research."
Too bad that I'Frankenstein didn't fare well in its opening week. But if you want to see more of Yvonne and hear more of her adorable accent, you can check him in the limited run of the returning 24.
She said that after I, Frankenstein, she'll head to London "to work the limited run, 12 episodes, of the new '24.' I play Kate Morgan, who desperately wants to find Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer - and that's all I can say at this point."
