Windows Phone Market Share Continues To Increase Though Not As Strongly As Before, Android Continues To Reign, iOS And Blackberry Slips Further

Year 2013 was definitely a break out year for Windows Phone, and it certainly showed in the last few months. In a new report from Kantar, the Microsoft-developed OS has improved in sales in several key markets which include the UK, France, Italy, and Spain.

Unfortunately for WP OS, it did not do much damage in the South American markets where Android has been dominating lately.

Meanwhile, Apple's iOS continues to slip in terms of market share, losing almost 50 percent of sales in Italy, and losing 6 percent in the US.

Blackberry OS is still unsurprisingly struggling due mostly to problems and issues within the Canadian-based company.

In spite Windows Phone and Android's rise in the smartphone market, market sales for smartphones overall have slowed down. This can be accounted to the increasing number of consumers who prefer tablets than handsets.

A recent report this month also projected that there will be a dramatic rise in tablet sales this year.
