Royal Rumble 2014 Recap: Batista Goes To Wrestlemania; Roman Reigns Set Elimination Record, WWE Holding Daniel Bryan Away From Success?

Royal Rumble 2014 Recap: All Royal Rumbles have always been exciting and action packed and this year's edition isn't any different/ it even actually sparked a little bit of controversy built by fans' expectations.

The New Age Outlaw are "the new tag team champions of the wooooorld!". The duo from the attitude era is back and is the champion yet again. Cody Rhodes and Goldust lost their titles in a short but exciting match giving the old school tag team New Age Outlaws another stint for glory.

On the next match, the biggest upset for the fans was to see Daniel Bryan lose in a one-on-one match against Bray Wyatt and not seeing Bryan in the rumble itself, but more about that later.

Being a very good match, Wyatt and Bryan exchanged blows from the get go as fans cheer for Bryan every time he hits Wyatt and boos every time Wyatt had the advantage.

The match went inside and outside the ring and obviously, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan was there in Bray's aide where they beat the living hell out of Daniel Bryan while outside. The referee threw the two out of ringside and out to the backstage after. The two exchanged blows until Bray Wyatt finally caught Bryan into a Sister Abigail's Kiss to pin him to three.

The battle of the bigs were next as Brock Lesnar proved he can go through anyone even 'The World's Largest Athlete' after he dominated and marred the Big Show in their one-on-one match.

On to the next match, Randy Orton successfully defended his championship title from John Cena. But that was not the story. It was looking like a Daniel Bryan show as fans chanted "Daniel Bryan!" during the match signaling that fans would like Bryan to get the belt.

Which led to a disappointment in fans as they were expecting the 30th man to come out in the rumble to be Bryan. Into their shock, it was Rey Mysterio.

Fans were outraged about not seeing Bryan in the rumble booing every move the last wrestlers on the ring were doing.

CM Punk went in first of the rumble but was eliminated by Kane where he was included in the last four in the ring.

Batista proved to be the best as he won the rumble and gets a chance to be the World Champion come Wrestlemania after earning the number one contender spot after winning the rumble.

But beneath Batista's victory, all eyes were on Roman Reigns who set a record of 12 eliminations in the rumble. Reigns were in the last four wrestlers in the ring alongside Sheamus, CM Punk and the winner Batista.
