Exorcist Bob Larson Fight Demons Through Skype; Does A Victim Even Have Time To Set Up His Computer? A Reverend Asks

During the ancient times, according to the Gospel of Mark, Jesus Christ met a man who lived outcast of the general public in Jordan. The man is said to be possessed by evil. Jesus approached the man and said "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!" He asked the evil what was his name to which the evil replied "My name is Legion for we are many." The Son of God then exorcised the poor man and sent the evils away.

Exorcism is an ancient practice that has been up for debate between modern and traditional people. It is a practice done face-to-face.

Fast forward to 2014, exorcism is still done in a lot of places in the world. Technology and the availability of information aren't even hindrance to sway people away from believing on the effectiveness of this practice. In fact, some exorcists even use 'technology' to talk to evil, like Bob Larson.

The Daily Dot reported that Larson, an Arizona-based evangelical Christian who claims to have performed over 20,000 exorcisms over the past 30 years, is someone you can turn to if you can't find an exorcist to help your mysteriously ailing friends or relatives. He can perform exorcism through Skype for only $295. Yes, you read that right, Skype.

CNN witnessed a Skype exorcism performed by Larson recently. He did the operation on a client named David who is pretending to be possessed. Larson is sitting in what appears to be an office. David grumbles, "take you down, down, down, down" to which Larson responded, "You're not taking me anywhere."

"You're the one who's going down." At the end of the hour-long exorcism, Larson declares victory over the demon. "God bless," he says. "Bye-bye."

Larson's approach has received oppositions from several groups, including those from the church.

"If a person is fully possessed, the demon inside of them will not let them sit in front of the computer screen to be exorcised," Reverend Isaac Kramer, director of the International Catholic Association of Exorcists, an organization that trains and ordains new exorcists, told Vocativ.

"Chances are, they're going to throw the computer screen across the room and destroy everything."
