With the rumors suggesting the imminent arrival of Apple iWatch, many experts are now comparing the upcoming wearable device from the Cupertino-based tech giant to Samsung's Galaxy Gear. Samsung was the first major company to launch a smartwatch - the Galaxy Gear and as posted on Latin Post, the iWatch will be a late addition to the party once it gets released.

Galaxy Gear vs iWatch : Battery

Accordingly, the iWatch may have a 100 mAH battery and may have wireless charging capabilities. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Gear comes with a significantly higher battery power with 315 mAH.

Galaxy Gear vs iWatch : Screen Size

As for the screen size, MacRumors suggest that the iWatch will be equipped with a 1.5-inch screen size, a bit smaller than the Galaxy Gear, which has a screen size of 1.63". Moreover, citing a report from The New York Times, Apple may integrate a curved glass display for the iWatch.

Galaxy Gear vs iWatch : OS And Features

According to Latin Post, the iWatch will be "an extension of the iOS experience. It will give quick access to popular iOS smartphone features like weather, alarm clock, sports scores, contacts, headline news, traffic updates and a lot more.

The post further said that the iWatch "will also reportedly carry a fully-fledged version of iOS, unlike Galaxy Gear's stripped down version of Android."

Some of the specific apps found on Samsung Galaxy Gear are Atooma, Banjo, Evernote, eBay, MyFitnessPal, Pocket, RunKeeper and TripIt. Additional features to find in the smartwatch from the South Korean manufacturer are Smart Relay, S Voice, Auto Lock, Pedometer, Media Controller, Timer and Stopwatch.
