Dead Island is the first free game for Xbox Live Gold members this February. The game became available on the Xbox Live store for 0 Microsoft points on February 1. Regularly priced at $20, the game will be available as one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members only until February 15.

The game description for Dead Island posted on Xbox Live Marketplace reads:
A holiday paradise gone mad after a zombie outbreak. The player's only chance to survive is to escape from the island. Dead Island combines first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customization of a vast array of weapons.
This free game for Xbox Live Gold members can be played by maximum of 4 players in co-op mode.
On February 16, Dead Island will be replaced by the other free game for Xbox Live Gold members announced for this month, which is "Toy Soldiers: Cold War." The game is created by Signal Studios as a sequel to the action/strategy game, "Toy Soldiers."
The free games for Xbox Live Gold members are under the "Games with Gold" offering from Microsoft. Each month, the company offers two free games for Xbox Live Gold members - the first one available on the first day of the month and then will be replaced by the second title on the 16th.
