Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill Return To Movies With “Heartbreaking Story”; ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ Stars Pay Tribute To Martin Scorsese

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill are teaming up once again after the success of Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" as they will bring to the movies a "heartbreaking story" about Richard Jewell, a security guard for the 1996 Olympics.

The "21 Jumpstreet" star told Fox News that they have been looking for another project after the fun they had doing the Oscar-nominated film about the excess of stockbroker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his friend Donnie Azoff (Jonah Hill).

Jonah Hill explained during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival Thursday night: "I think it's such a heartbreaking story and such an interesting story about the 24-hour news cycle: a man becoming a hero and then the world's biggest villain within 24 hours of each other."

Sadly, he said, Richard Jewell died before he was able to clear his name.

Leonardo DiCaprio will lend his acting chops as the security guard's attorney. He will also executive produce the film.

The perennial Oscar-nominated actor was all praise for his co-star. "When you work with somebody of his talent and his vision, I think we're going to come up with something unique," Jonah Hill said.

According to NY Daily News, Richard Jewell was a security guard who was hailed as a hero after he found a bomb at the Olympics and helped ushered athletes and visitors to safety. However, he was later tagged in the crime, which killed one individual. While he was later cleared of the bombing, he died at age 44 in 2007 before that happened.

Meanwhile, both Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill honored "Wolf of Wall Street" director Martin Scorsese during the 2014 ADG Awards in The Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 8, Saturday in California.

In a Fox report, Leonardo DiCaprio also sounded off on his nomination for the Oscars. "What I've realized over the years is that there is no predicting these things. Of course anyone would love to be honored by their peers. But it is the old cliche. We got nominated for this. And that's a pretty amazing achievement," he said.
