Dark Tower Movie Adaptation Making No Progress But Will Push Through; Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul Playing The Lead Role Is Not Final Yet

Talks about the movie adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Towers have been swirling on the web for a long time now. Many fans are already awaiting for answers on the whos, whats, whens, and wheres of the horror novel. Still up to this day, only few have heard from the people behind the possible movie.

Around four months ago, director Ron Howard told Empire Podcst that the Dark Tower adaptation is still alive and kicking.

"The Dark Tower is something that we're still working on. We've all taken a vow of silence about the progress, the headway, what we think our timetable is, because I don't think I realised how much media interest there was in the title and how much excitement there was," Howard said.

That vow of silence has kept the fans aching for news about the film. Some even think that there will no longer be a Dark Tower movie.

Now, Dark Tower producer Akiva Goldsman talked to Collider to assure that Dark Tower is still in development. However, since that statement by Howard, production isn't making any progress.

"It's not officially back on and we will never let it go - until Stephen takes it away from us, " he said.

Goldsman also said that the casting department isn't approaching any actors yet. Few names were mentioned on who's going to play lead roles.

"No, but I love reading about it!" said when asked if Liam Neeson was the choice for the lead role.

Two weeks ago, rumors surfaced that Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul will play the role of Eddie Dean, an ex-heroin addict who has a raw talent for gunslinging.

"I've had a ton of meetings on that. I just had a general sit down with Ron Howard, who is a huge fan of the show (Breaking Bad, naturally), which is such a crazy thing to even think that Ron Howard even knows who I am. They're definitely planning on making [The Dark Tower]."

Dark Tower is a fantasy, science fantasy, horror, and Western about a gunslinger and his quest toward a tower, the nature of which is both physical and metaphorical. Stephen King considers this work of him as magnum opus or "great work."
